About

Hello, my name is Fisher Hemwall and thank you for taking an interest in myself and my work! Here is a little bit about who I am, what I have done, am doing, will do.

Today, I would call myself a landscape designer and land use planner. I am currently in pursuit of a Master's degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design from West Virginia University, and graduate December 2026. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from Kent State University, 2025. I am a Graduate Research Assistant with the West Virginia Brownfields Assistance Center; my work is community planning and design with an emphasis on practical sustainability.

I practice the Sustainable SITES Initiative workflow regularly and have goals to pursue SITES certification. I use my skills of GIS environmental inventory, modeling, and analysis combined with my architectural and spatial knowledge to steward communities by designing and planning to align with their goals and land use regulations.

As for my personal life, I enjoy immersing myself in the wilderness through hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking. I additionally enjoy both playing and watching soccer, and comics (The Flash is my favorite). I also like to express my creativity in other mediums such as chalk pastel, pen linework, and film photography.
